Sound Choices: Empowering People and Protecting Nature

A free public outreach workshop, Sound Choices: Empowering People and Protecting Nature on Monday June 13th 8am - 5pm, at the Rhode Island Convention Center. The one-day Workshop is sponsored by A Quieter Future (AQF) and the Michiko So Finegold Memorial Trust and INCE-USA. In the morning session, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary, National Park Service, and Dr. Jesse Barber from Boise State University will talk about their research and the effects of noise on marine life, terrestrial wildlife and plants. Lang Elliot, photographer and sound artist, will soothe your senses with the music of nature. NOISE-CON attendees, accompanying persons, vendors, and your New England Area friends are invited. The afternoon session will train educators how to use AQF STEM kits to teach kids about the issues of noise in nature and our oceans. Your expertise and ideas would add a lot!
